5 Valentine's Day Kid Crafts

Thursdays is ALL about the kids around here on The Chirping Moms, so we thought what would be better than sharing some simple Valentine crafts that your little one will LOVE!

1.  Valentine Heart Man:  Cut out 6 different hearts (1 for head, 1 for body, 4 for hands and feet).  This is a perfect activity for my four year old as we are working hard on scissors skills.  I traced the hearts on construction paper and he cut them out!  Add accordion arms, legs, and neck.  Glue all the pieces together to create the Valentine Heart Man.  Add eyes, nose, face and color if child chooses!

2.  Valentine Handprint Hearts:  This is a simple craft that you can do with both younger and older toddlers.  My kids love to get their hands in paint, so we created these simple heart shapes.  The perfect Valentine to send to grandma or grandpa!

3.  Heart Reflection Valentines:  For these Valentines, I cut out big hearts from construction paper.  Aiden, my four year old, painted on only 1/2 of the heart.

We folded the heart over so the paint was reflected onto the other side of the paper. (See top right of collage!)  Aiden LOVED making them and they are a cute decoration in our dining room!

4. Painted Hearts
For this project, take a toilet paper roll & pinch the top to make the opening "heart shaped". Then dip it in paint & use it like a stamp!

 5. Button Heart Valentines
I bought a few packs of medium sizes foam hearts at the craft store. Then I gave Maggie a bowl of different colored buttons & a bowl of glue. She spent a long time on this one! We wrote her name on the back & thought they would be nice Valentine's Day gift for grandparents & teachers.
